Wellness spa & day-use facility
Design and construction of an urban wellness facility providing treatment rooms, relaxation lounges, wet areas and supporting back-of-house. The brief focuses on user comfort, controlled sensory experiences (light, sound, temperature) and meticulous detailing in wet zones for waterproofing and hygiene. The program prioritizes privacy, circulation clarity and durable materials that still communicate calm and luxury.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The spa concept is a sequence of progressively quieter and more private spaces that guide guests from arrival to relaxation via controlled sensory design. Arrival areas are warm and welcoming; treatment rooms are dimensioned for therapist ergonomics and calming ambiance with adjustable lighting and acoustic privacy. Wet areas (steam, sauna, showers) are detailed with robust waterproofing, slip-resistant surfaces and integrated drainage to meet strict hygiene standards. Material selection favors natural textures—stone, treated timber, soft plaster—that promote tactile comfort while being serviceable. Air handling and humidity control are carefully zoned to protect both guest comfort and building fabric. The layout also enables flexible programming of treatment rooms so services can be adjusted seasonally or for special offerings.
- Zoned humidity control and waterproof detailing.
