Transit shelter & community kiosk design
Design and build of modular transit shelters and small community kiosks that enhance commuter comfort and support micro-commerce. The brief calls for vandal-resistant, low-maintenance assemblies with integrated lighting, seating and simple electrical provisions for lighting and small devices. Ease of installation and replacementability are prioritized.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The concept delivers modular shelter units that combine robust structure with a light, contemporary aesthetic to uplift street presence. Shelters are detailed for high resistance to wear—tamper-proof fixings, anti-graffiti coatings and impact-resistant glazing—while providing user comforts like seating ergonomics, lighting and clear sightlines. Kiosks are designed as flexible boxes that can support diverse micro-retail uses with standardized service connections and secure lockable storage. Both shelter and kiosk modules are engineered for rapid site installation and straightforward maintenance access to electrical and lighting systems. The proposition improves transit waiting experiences and activates the corridor with micro-commerce opportunities.
