PROJECT CONCEPT
The bicycle hub is conceived as a compact, secure station that solves three problems at once: safe parking, basic maintenance and user amenity. Sheltered racks are integrated into a modular shelter that includes anchor points for locks, an LED-lit repair post with basic tools and a public pump. Where appropriate, provision for e-bike charging and CCTV is included to increase perceived security. Materials are chosen for outdoor durability and ease of cleaning; the station footprint and circulation are optimized to avoid conflict with pedestrian flows. Clear pictographic signage and entry thresholds make the hub intuitive for first-time users, supporting broader multimodal journeys and last-mile connectivity.
